As many of you know, a new operating system called Windows Vista™ has been released by Microsoft as an upgrade to existing Windows versions and for use on new computers. For some time, StarBand has been in the process of performing extensive compatibility tests between StarBand services (including StarBand Model 360, 480, 481 and StarBand Nova) and Windows Vista™.

Windows Vista™ represents a significant change at a technical level from previous Windows versions, and is incompatible with certain older programs, peripherals and services. Our tests have concluded that the StarBand Model 360 is not compatible with Windows Vista™. As a result, StarBand 360 customers that rely on StarBand for Internet access should not install Windows Vista™.

RECENT UPDATE: Our testing has confirmed that Windows Vista™ is compatible with StarBand Nova services (SkyEdge modem) and StarBand 480, 484 and 481 services. We recommend that customers download the most recent modem configuration tool for 484, 481 and 480 services. In some situations, StarBand Technical Support may require customers to use this program to restore Internet connectivity. We will notify customers once updated information is available through www.StarBand.net or portal.StarBand.net.

I have a StarBand 480 Pro, 481, 484 or Nova system. Can I upgrade to Windows Vista™?
Yes. First you should download the 484 and 481 modem configuration tool available at http://download.starband.net, and save it to your PC. You will need this program if asked by Technical Support.
